Non woven fabric are also known as non-woven fabrics. The raw materials used are mainly polyethene and polypropylene plastic particles, which are by-products produced when refining petroleum. Short fibers or filaments are obtained by high-temperature melting, spinning and other processes, and then rubbed. , cohesion, bonding, or a combination of these methods are oriented or randomly arranged to produce sheets, webs or batts, which are called "nonwovens" because they do not need to be woven but have the appearance and certain properties of cloth. 


The production of non-woven fabrics mainly includes the manufacture of substrates, post-processing and other links, including fiber preparation, web formation, reinforcement, and post-finishing. It is connected to form a net, and then reinforced by spun lace, acupuncture or hot rolling, etc., and finally made into a non-woven fabric after finishing. Downstream enterprises further process non-woven materials to form surgical gowns, sanitary napkins, diapers, wet wipes and other products, which are sold to end consumers. The upstream of the nonwovens industry is mainly the chemical industry, and the downstream mainly includes product companies or terminal brands in different fields such as medical and health care, personal care, engineering, and automotive interiors.


According to the different subdivision process, the nonwovens industry can be divided into spunbond, needle punching, spunlace chemical bonding, thermal bonding and other subdivisions. The nonwovens produced by different raw materials and processes have different properties, so There are also differences in the areas of downstream applications. For example, spunbond nonwovens have high strength, high-temperature resistance, and poor hand feel, and are used in medical protective clothing, packaging cloth, luggage cloth, automotive interiors, etc.; spunlace nonwovens have the characteristics of breathability, softness, moisture absorption, and high strength. It can be used in medical materials, cotton pads, wet wipes and other products.


The raw materials of non-woven fabrics mainly include polypropylene (polypropylene), polyester (polyester), viscose fiber, acrylic fiber and polyamide fiber. Different proportions of various raw materials will affect the characteristics and uses of non-woven fabrics.
